The “Endeering” Nature of Regency

Arriving for a property tour in Regency at Dominion Valley today, I was already in a good mood. While the temperatures may be cool, the sunshine has everyone gearing up for spring. And a scenic drive down Route 15 from Leesburg to Regency just gave me more time to enjoy the day. Much needed after the start of my mom’s fifth move in five years.

Meeting some of my favorite clients made my smile bigger for sure. There is something special about working with someone who knew you before you knew yourself and considers you family. Now that my mom is getting further and further removed from me with the progression of Alzheimer’s, seeing long-time friends is truly a blessing. It makes you feel grounded at your core.

My buyers and I had a real treat waiting for us off the back deck of this particular patio home on Armour Court. There were five deer lying in the shade. Evidently the sun was getting just a bit too warm for them today. You can see their inquisitive looks as we stepped out and started snapping pictures.

It is inevitable that a deer sighting while on a home tour reminds me of an old Chevy Chase movie Funny Farm. If you have never seen it, he and his wife ditch city living and head out to the country and find it not nearly as charming as they thought they would. In preparation to sell their country home (obviously not in a seller’s market) they start paying off the locals for acts of kindness to prospective buyers and just generally acting in line with what you would expect in a small town. This scene demonstrates the ultimate in creating buyer enthusiasm and is the reason you will hear me say, “Cue the deer,” when we see one or two….or five on a showing.

Talking with a neighbor on the way out, I was assured that deer are a regular sight in Regency. If active adult living is something you have been considering and living off of a tree-lined street in a gated golf course community where you are likely to see deer appeals to you, give us a call. Sandra and I would love to show you around.

These deer must be used to people.
They look like they are begging for treats.
